Sharp Zaurus SL-C3000
I hope I get to play with one of these babies.
The newest Zaurus from Sharp has risen with some nice new features, including a built-in 1-inch 4GB drive and the standard 128MB of RAM. It also features some new interface tweaks like a control pad that replaces the previous arrow keys. With all this new stuff and the new moving parts, Sharp is claiming a decent 7 hours of battery time for the SL-C3000, down from about 8 hours for the SL-C860. Other niceties include the ability to operate as a USB drive, SD and CF slots, irDA, and media playback of MP3, WMA, and MPEG-4 video files.
Looks like a VERY cool PDA. I love the folding screen and the built-in keyboard. But I wonder what the batter life is like with that hard disk built-in? Still, 4GB of storage is nothing to sneeze at!
I would love it if a Linux based PDA could run Avantgo, I use Avantgo for news on my Pocket PC and it’s one of the reasons moving to a Linux PDA would be hard for me. I’m a news junkie so no Avantgo means no news and that would stink.

The Register also has some coverage of the new Zaurus.
Enjoy the blog? Feel free to leave a tip by buying me a cup of coffee. Thanks!
