To sum it up: I had a lot of fun with this game, although the brainless AI and some weak level designs took away from a lot of the fun factor. I know that we have almost come to expect braindead computer opponents in squad-based games but that’s no reason for us to have to put up with it.

Should you buy this game? Frankly there’s better games in the genre and how much you enjoy this game is really going to be dependent on how much you care about the Star Wars universe. If you’re a huge fan of the movies you’re going to get a lot more mileage out of the iconic sounds, music, vehicles and weapons. Without that cachet though the experience may fall a little flat. The game really depends on an emotional reaction to the Star Wars trappings.

It’s done well, has a good amount of flash, and takes place in a setting many of us love. Either this all sounds interesting, or it doesn’t. There aren’t many surprises here to sway your $50 one way or the other. Me? I give it a 6.

I’m embarrassed to say that my copy is still sitting on the shelf. It’s not that I don’t want to play it, it’s just that there have been so many other things to do. Maybe I’m just burnt out on Star Wars games. I’ve played so many of them over the years that’s it’s kind of hard to get really excited about playing yet another one. On the other hand, I bought it so I might as well play it.
