Jim Lynch: Off the Top of My Head…

Just a heads up, I’ve changed the format of the ads.

The huge top banner is gone, I’ve replaced it with a strip on the left and the ads at the bottom of the comments page are at the top of the page (minus the borders). I think this will help make it easier to read the blog and also encourage folks to view/click the ads when they get done reading an entry (since the ads will be closer to the bottom of the entry text).

I’m taking a cue from the Mobile Tracker blog, he’s had some great luck with his ad placement. You can check out how he’s doing it here. The ads at the bottom of his entries blend into the page nicely and provide helpful information related to the entry. I think it’s a nice way of doing it.

I don’t miss that gigantic top banner at all. :shock:

Do you like the changes? Or should I stick the big banner back up there?
